Franklin's Extreme Weather Conditions Demand Expert HVAC Solutions

Franklin, Ohio is known for its continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. This extreme temperature fluctuation can put a strain on heating and cooling systems, leading to increased energy bills and reduced equipment lifespan. At Mason Heritage Air, we understand the importance of proper system design and installation to mitigate these effects. Our team of experts adheres to Manual J Load Calculations and Manual D Duct Design standards, ensuring that every system is tailored to the specific needs of each property. We also follow ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America) quality installation standards to guarantee optimal performance and efficiency.

The Midwestern environment poses unique challenges to HVAC systems, including high-saturation latent heat loads from the Ohio River Valley and atmospheric corrosive particulates. These factors can accelerate the thermal fatigue of gas furnace heat exchangers and cause the oxidative degradation of outdoor condenser fins. Our technicians are trained to diagnose and address these issues using advanced techniques such as Subcooling and Superheat diagnostics, External Static Pressure gradients, and Psychrometric dehumidification cycles. We also recommend MERV-rated filtration efficiency to minimize the impact of airborne pollutants on system performance.

Furthermore, Ohio's humid climate can lead to biological growth in dark evaporator cabinets during prolonged humidity cycles, while high-efficiency furnaces can be prone to secondary heat exchanger fouling. Frozen condensate drain lines during Polar Vortex events and refrigerant acidity in aging heat pump systems are also common issues in the Great Lakes region. Our team is equipped to handle these challenges and provide tailored solutions to ensure reliable and efficient heating and cooling.
